Hanshi Eddie Emin, (still affectionately known as Shihan Eddie) is one of founding fathers of Kyokushinkai Karate in Australia. Shihan Eddie is responsible for launching the martial arts passions in tens of thousands of martial arts devoteed. In the early days of Karate in Australia Eddie Emin began training and teaching out of the Silver Top Taxi depot in the 1950's. As the passion for martial arts grew in Australia the expansion of Karate took on a more serious role. In the 60's Eddie Emin was introduced to Mas Oyama by Mr Ivan Zavetchanos and Don Dreager, what ensued was a lifetime frienship and strong expansion of the division across Australia and the South Pacific! Its impossible to say for sure how many people are first or second or even third generation students of Shihan Eddy, but one thing is for sure, the man has made a very powerful contribution to the martial arts world in Australia and the betterment of the lives of many many people.
