Sinn Chew is a 6th Dan in Karate
Sinn (Shihan) is an educator and martial arts instructor, held in high regard by all who know him. As the Chief instructor of the University of Queensland (UQ Karate Club), his influence and mentorship, has served many hundreds of students.
Sinn commenced his martial arts journey in 1973. He trained in Shotokan Karate, KungFu and Kickboxing, only switching to Goju Ryu in1990. In 2004, he commenced cross-training in Judo and BJJ.
His devotion to deepen his understanding in GojuRyu is matched only with a long standing commitment to demonstrate the essence of the style, and to bring about the very best in each and every student. His teaching optimises the body, strengthen the mind and encourage the fighting spirit. He is truly an inspiration to his students, or to any new or senior student interested and passionate about learning Karate, and keeping fit and conditioned, with self defense skills in mind.
The mindset for developing Karate and life skills are parallel. Sinn is unique in that he continually tries to de-mystify the ancient martial arts, and to demonstrate the relationship between the traditional basics and modern fighting methodologies.
