Upali Mendis is a 6th Dan in Karate

Shihan Upali began his martial arts journey in 1986 when he joined the local Shotokan Karate club.

In 1998 Shihan became a member and Branch Chief of the Enshin Kaikan Karate organisation under Shihan Joko Ninomya and Shri Lanka Sensei Ranjith DeSilva. Later Shihan Mendis became representative to the Seiken kaikan and now currently holds the branch chief title for Teshinkai International Karate organisation in Sri Lanka.

Shihan Mendis is a well known and respected martial arts leader who has dedicated most of his adult life to the positive development of his students in the Wattala area of Sri Lanka.

Shihan Mendis has a mission to continue to improve the lives of as many students as possible through the art of karate-do.
