Introduction
Peter Conroy is a 6th Dan Black Belt Instructor with Funakoshi Karate International Australia.
Shihan Peter has for many years owned and operated the Funakoshi Karate Club in Terang Victoria. As a Certificate IV Personal Trainer, Peter is also well qualified to deliver training programs that compliment his karate teaching and engage a broader cross section of his local community.
Shihan Peter is the founder of "Slipper Camp" ( boot camp for beginners) Dedicated to help people improve their health- fitness- well-being, specialising in weight loss and maintenance.
Shihan Peter is concerned with the mental and physical well being of all his students and is seen as a key contributor to the health and well being of his local community.

I have know Peter Conroy Shihan as a personal friend and fellow karate-ka since 1996) and student of mine since 2009. Peter has always run his own karate dojo: Goju Ryu (IOGKF) prior to 2009 and Funakoshi Karate (FKIA) since 2009. He holds black belt rankings in both IOGKF (Sandan 3rd Dan) and Funakoshi Karate International Australia (FKIA) (Rokudan 6th Dan). Peter achieved his FKIA rankings as a student of mine: - Yondan / 4th Dan on 27 March 2011. - Godan 5th Dan on 20 March 2016. - Rokudan / 6th Dan 0n 2 May 2021. He is a successful karate instructor having produced numerous junior and senior black belts. His students have excelled at tournaments, achieving impressive medal tallies including numerous state and national champions. His instructing/coaching qualifications are many and include: - National Coaching Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) Level 1 (Bronze) in karate. - Fitness instructing (group and personal trainer) Cert III and Cert IV. - A host of supplementary instruction/coaching accreditations in fitness and nutrition. He is also a qualified kata and kumite judge/referee in the National All Styles (NAS) circuit in Australia. Peter has toured, competed and trained internationally with FKIA on three occasions: - USA and Canada in 2012. - Singapore, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, France and Hong Kong in 2014. - South Africa and Singapore in 2016 (Peter was leader of this tour).
